Destined Book 2

Destined (Vampire Awakenings #2)

Genre: M/F, Paranormal Romance

Synopsis:

Terrified of becoming mated like her parents, Isabelle has locked herself away in order to avoid their fate. She is content to stay sheltered amongst her family, hidden away as she lives out her days away from the human race, and the world. Despite her determination to remain alone, her world is rocked when a person from her parent’s past arrives at their door, bringing with them the powerful, and stunning vampire Stefan.

Though Stefan is not expecting to arrive at a nest full of vampires, he is immediately drawn to the vibrant, often defiant, and willful Isabelle. To his surprise, Isabelle does everything in her power to avoid him, and her desire for him.

No matter how hard she tries to fight it though, Isabelle begins to realize that trying to deny her destiny may just destroy them both, as there are some things that cannot be stopped. Just as she begins to let her guard down, Stefan’s dark and deadly past catches up to him and threatens to destroy them both.

My Review: 4/5 Stars

Before I started this book and read the blurb, I thought it would be about one of Liam’s friends finding their soul mate like he did, that was not the case. It is actually Liam and Sera’s daughter who finds her soul mate. I wasn’t truly disappointed, because this was a good read as well.

Isabelle doesn’t want to be like her parents. Where if one of them dies the other will follow right behind the other be it they die right after or they have to be hunted and killed because they went rouge. She is fine staying on the family land with no chance of meeting her soul mate. Boy was she wrong.

Stefan thinks that he is going to meet his girlfriend’s mother’s best friend from college. He didn’t know he was about to enter a vampire nest and find his soul mate. Stefan and Isabella try to fight their feelings, but it was a losing battle. Now I know you may be saying, but he has a girlfriend. Yes he did, but you can’t think that he would still be with Jess once Isabella came into the picture, it was not possible at all.

Now lets go to the mating part, once Stefan broke things off with Jess, he was determined to be with Isabella, even though at the time he didn’t realize that they were mates. Of course Jess tried to get her man back, but it never happened.

Isabelle on the other hand drove me crazy. I understood the I don’t want to be like my parents and all that and he has a girlfriend, but when you find out they are not together any more and you agree to stop avoiding the man, don’t avoid him. OMG I wanted to slap her and she was to dang judgmental for me. Don’t get me wrong I liked her, she was loyal to her family. Did anything for her brothers and sisters and she had a good sense of humor. I loved the sibling wars, but when she got on her high horse I wanted to knock her off it.

The action was fast paced and kept you intrigued and when Brenda put the final twist in I was like damn.

It was a great story with love and loyalty. Drama and when Isabelle let herself go, hot vampire sex. (There is something wrong with me and I’m okay with that.) I can’t wait to read Untamed.
