My Review: 3/5 Stars
Sophia Spencer lost her husband two years ago and it’s time for her to move on with her life. Or so her family and friends keep telling her. She has a long talk with her friend Lexi and that leads her into going to The Cellar a BDSM club, where she meets the owner Kyle Zeller.
Kyle Zeller knew Sophie’s husband, even trained him so that he could be her Dom. When Sophie’s name came across his desk, he offered her an invite to his club. When they meet they instantly lust after each other. Sophie’s life is in danger and Kyle will do anything to protect her. But after a disagreement they have, will he be able to?
It took a bit for me to get into this book because I am a depraved person and I was looking for the kinky from the beginning. Yeah sue me. Once Sophie and Kyle meet things started picking up for me. I was enjoying the story. I loved how they interacted with each other on their first night together. Although Sophie came off as a gold digger, I looked past that.
While they are having dinner Kyle asks Sophie if she is willing to make a bet with him. It’s a win/win kind of bet, so Sophie puts caution to the wind and agrees to it. Cause I mean seriously I would have made the bet too, but I don’t know what the bet was, I searched. I just know what the terms were if either of them won, but I swear I didn’t see it. But after that things started to pick up quickly again for me.
Lets fast forward to the end, OMG I had a WTF just happened moment. I even yelled at the book. (not uncommon for me) But they had just got done getting freaky and Kyle is on the phone with someone to help him find his missing father. Sophie overhears then she panics and uses her safe word when Kyle tries to find out what’s wrong. After I found out the reason she said it, I think she should have figured out a long time ago because if she would have put two and two together it would have came to her. Maybe it was his sexiness that befuddled her brain, but yeah I wanted slap her.
Then it’s a cliffhanger. I screamed at the book again. Things started to get real interesting and now I have to wait until Spring time to figure out what the heck is going to happen next.
Abigail Lee Justice writes emotional, erotic, suspense romances which include a BDSM theme. She creates strong characters, who seem real, but are flawed in some ways, some couples Happily Ever After will be a work in progress. Some characters problems are just too steamy to fix in one book. Abigail was born and raised in Baltimore City by two wonderful, supportive, loving parents. As a child she made up vivid stories in her head then one day a friend told her instead of keeping her stories locked inside she needed to put them on paper; that’s exactly what she did. Abigail met her husband 29 years ago on a blind date (thanks Dan C.) while working a part time job to put herself through college, she fell madly in love with her Prince Charming and has been since the first day they met. By day, Abigail practices medicine in a busy Cardiologist practice, by evening she switches her white coat for more relaxed comfortable clothing. She has two wonderful adult sons and a very spoiled chocolate lab. In the wee hours of the night, she writes BDSM romances. In her spare time when not working or writing, Abigail enjoys, reading, concocting vegetarian dishes, exotic vacations, scuba diving, high adventure activities, living in the lifestyle she writes about, and doing lots and lots of research making sure her characters get it just right.
