Sometimes you land a great job, meet your soulmate and live happily ever after—nothing else required. This isn’t one of those times.

Annie Caslo is a successful, young doctor, but when she begins rethinking the career choices she’s made, she makes a decision to find a way to stay focused and achieve her true ambitions – that is until fate steps in and she is thunderstruck by Colt Ballard. He’s six foot three inches of heart-stopping hotness, an adept, roguish soccer star and also one of her interns. But he’s a player – on and off the field – and Annie has better things to do. Still, the combustible chemistry between them is impossible to resist – Colt brings out feelings she never knew existed and Annie’s swept off her reluctant feet.

When she continues to second-guess her life choices, opportunities and obstacles begin piling up higher than the greasy Mexican food stacks she hates to admit loving. While in a state of emotional turmoil, she gets a celestial visit from a hunky, Hollywood heartthrob, lookalike, who claims to be her guardian angel. He takes her on a magical road trip to self-discovery with the help of several, dearly departed film icons.

Review Tour: Unexpected Eden by Rhenna Morgan

Unexpected Eden (Eden #1)

Genre: M/F, Contemporary, Fantasy, Romance

Paradise, love, power…and a prophecy with a price.

Most people believe Eden no longer exists. Lexi Merrill’s about to learn they’re wrong. A hard-working bartender with a self-sufficient backbone and a wary nature, she knows pickup lines like a second language. So, when Eryx Shantos barges into her world with too-smooth words and a body to back it up, she locks up her libido and vows to keep her distance.

Eryx has other ideas. As king of the Myren race, Eryx is duty-bound to enforce the laws preventing exposure of their existence to humans. Yet The Fates have led him through his dreams to Lexi, a temptation he doesn’t want to resist. The question–is she Myren, or human which makes her forbidden fruit?

When Eryx’s nemesis tags Lexi as his next target, Eryx insists on taking her home where he can keep her safe. Lexi had no idea “home” would mean the one-and-only land of creation…or that she’d trigger a prophecy that could doom her newfound race.

My Review: 4.5/5 Stars

Unexpected Eden is fast paced and grabs your attention after the first paragraph.

Lexi works as a bartender and goes to school. She basically keeps her head down and does her work, but she knows that there is something missing in her life.

Eryx is the king of his people and he has been searching for his mate for the past 10 years.  One night he finds her and will do anything to get her to be his.

Let’s throw in a very bad guy and a psycho ex-lover and you have yourself a great story. I couldn’t put it down, that’s how good it was. Lexi is a fighter and was determined to be the woman that Eryx needed. Eryx is what wet dreams are made of. I liked how the main characters and supporting characters reacted with other and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

Rhenna Morgan writes for the same reason she reads—to escape reality.

Yes, her life rocks—two beautiful little girls, a great husband, a steady job, and the kind of friends that would take you out back if you hurt her. But, like most women, she’s got obligations stacked tight from dusk to dawn. So, when the world gets her down, she slips into something…less realistic.

Romance is a must. So is a steamy romp (or four). Nothing thrills her more than the fantasy of new, exciting worlds, strong, intuitive men, and the sigh of, “Oh if only that could happen to me.”

So, if you’re picking up one of her books, expect portals into alternate realms and men who’ll fight to keep the women they want. Romantic escape for the women who need it.

Review Tour: Sonar the Crashing by B Truly

Native Cover.4258932.indd

Sonar the Crashing (Sonar #1)

Genre: M/F, Fantasy, Romance

Is it more than déjà vu? With the Romeland family it may be destined to be true.

Life on Earth is not the only place where devastation occurs and hard choices must be made. The Royal 4 of Kadan live in the Sonar galaxy three million light years from Earth. They travel to Earth to obtain the resources they need to give their world a fighting chance.

Their mission is compromised and they’re faced with life changing events. They have amnesia and no memory of their past. Strange dreams start to occur. They wonder if it’s more than a dream, or is it déjà vu? The mind is a complex mystery. Amnesia is a secret unknown. The role it manifests in these characters’ lives is a catastrophic cyclone.

Shiray is frantic when she is the first to find out about their true destiny and that the love of her life no longer remembers who she is. She must find a way to restore her family before all is lost. They must prevail because the fate of their planet lies in their hand.

It had been several weeks since I had retrieved my memory and still had not found out any information. Would I ever see my husband again? Would I ever see my planet again? I wondered if King Julius had gotten our distress call from the ship before it went down. If he had gotten the call, why hadn’t he sent a rescue team? A Polar must have sabotaged our ship to make it crash and given us amnesia so our mission would fail. It’s the only thing that made sense. Syira and the others must have lost their memories also, because no one had tried to contact me in all this time. I hoped Kadan hadn’t lost the war already and we weren’t too late.

I got on the computer in the living room. I was going to try again to hack into the CIA or the FBI system to find some information on our crashed ship. I was skipping school today, but my foster mother was at work, so I had plenty of time.

I couldn’t get into either system, so I went to the garage to get some wires and bolts. I was going to use my Kadanan knowledge, which I finally remembered, to rig the computer’s hardware so I could get into their systems. I sat back down and set up the wiring and bolts to the computer. Then I went back to the CIA’s website. There had to be something on the crash. I started putting in codes. It took me about five minutes, and I was in. Bingo! That was easy. I should have thought about rigging the computer sooner. I started searching through random files and then typed in unidentified object and a code mission came up. I typed in some more codes, and a file opened. It was a recording. I pushed play, and a man spoke:

Two males and one female were found two miles east of Convey Valley on May fifteenth, two thousand eleven. They had no knowledge of who they were. Is there a relationship between them and the spacecraft? There was also another female found two point five miles west of where the other three were found. She also had no knowledge of who she was. None of them had serious injuries. They were sent to Denver Methodist for a day of observation and the three found east of Convey were sent to Dempstead Foster Home. The separate female was sent to Elite Foster Care. The two males and female that were found east of Convey Valley were taken into private foster care and reside in Denver, Colorado. The female who was found alone was also taken into private foster care, and resides in Parker, Colorado. Detailed personal records of these four are being kept in a separate file for Major Compton. At this time no hostile actions have been shown by the surveillances. Special agents on Major Compton’s team have been assigned to keep watch over these surveillances to see what transpires and if there is any form of extraterritorial activity between them.

The recording ended. I should have known we were being watched. Who was this Major Compton? I continued to hack through the files. Pictures came up on the screen of our ship. They had it! The first few photos of the ship were of the original wreckage. Our ship had a large hole in the side. In the next photos of the ship it had been fixed. I couldn’t believe they were able to fix it.

We must have all been thrown out of the ship at impact, or at least I had been. I had woken up on the ground and didn’t see our ship, Bryan, or the others. The recording said I had been found in the opposite direction of the others. I was amazed we all survived. I assumed the force field surrounding the ship saved our lives and kept the ship mostly intact, except for the large hole that had been on the side. I wondered what material they used to fix it, as the metals used to create it on Kadan were not available on Earth. I hoped it would hold together in space, if it could even fly.

I remembered how sore I’d been on the day they found me, but at the time I didn’t even know why I was hurt. I had a few cuts and bruises, but nothing was broken. I didn’t remember a lot from that day; it was all a blur. I remember waking up and wandering around lost. Then the police officers found me, at least that is who they told me they were. But now that I was recalling the memory, the four men had on black suits. I don’t think they were the police. They must have been CIA agents. It would make sense with all the information I was putting together.

It pissed me off we were being watched like guinea pigs. They must be in the shadows, waiting and watching for us to show signs we weren’t human.

I tried to search for an address to where Bryan was sent, but I couldn’t find one. It must have been in the other file for Mr. Compton the recording mentioned, but I wasn’t able to access it. I was so frustrated. All I had to go on was that he, Nile, and Syira had been sent to Denver.

I got out of the CIA system and did an Internet search for Denver high schools. Several came up. I would just have to start and go down the list. Cashmere High was the first one, so I would start there. I would go there during school hours and see if I could find them.

I caught the city bus the next morning to the school. When the bus got to my stop I walked up to the school. I took a deep breath and didn’t know what I would do, if I actually found Bryan. I might pass out.

As I approached the school the bell rung, and students scattered. I looked around, nervously, then walked toward the courtyard. Suddenly I heard a familiar voice. It was Syira! She was talking to some hunk. I moved a little closer; feeling relieved to see her, but would talk with her later. I wanted to find Bryan and wouldn’t be satisfied until I did.

I walked inside the school, searching different hallways. The bell rang again and there were not a lot of people in the halls. Suddenly I couldn’t move. I felt a presence behind me, and knew it was Bryan. I was almost too scared to turn around, and then heard a woman’s voice behind me. I forced myself to turn, and there he was, more gorgeous than I remembered him. He was talking with a girl and he gazed at her lovingly. This crushed my heart. Who was she? We looked so much alike. Her eyes were light green, and she was my height and petite frame. Her hair was long and wavy like mine too, except it was blond.

This pissed me off immensely. They started laughing, and I felt so jealous. Then they embraced in a tight hug. At that instance tears started streaming down my face. I turned and double-timed it down the hallway. He remembered nothing. What was I going to do? Whatever it was, I had to do it fast.

My Review: 3.5/5 Stars

What do you do when you crashed land into Earth of no memory of how you got there or what happened before you got there?

Shiray lives her life as if she were another regular human, until one day she realizes she is royalty and it up to her and her siblings to save their home planet.

I enjoyed this read, it was very different from most of the fantasy romance I have read before. The characters are engaging and have you wondering what will happen next. My only problem was that a couple of times I didn’t know who’s point of view it was.

Really can’t wait to read what will happen next in this series.

I have wanted to be an author since I was fifteen years old and I’m grateful to have accomplished this dream. I have three wonderful children and a husband who defines the person I am today.

I have very vivid dreams and a wild imagination. I like to read and watch tons of TV shows and movies. I’m addicted to romance and get a thrill out of action and suspense. I write New Adult, Fantasy, Sci-fi, and Paranormal-Romance.

In the Sonar series it was fun to explore different elements of Sci-fi romance and create various realms of powers for my characters. I want to show my readers that Sci-fi can be fun, but also traumatic. I hope you guys enjoy the Sonar Series.

Blog Tour: Highland Storm by Victoria Zak

Highland Storm - Tour Banner

Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000039_00073]

Highland Storm (Guardians of Scotland #2)

Genre: M/F, Historical, Fantasy, Romance

A long forgotten Ancient kingdom has been awakened and threatens to change the Dragonkine world forever.

Can passion weather the dragon’s storm?

The only true pleasures in life Conall Hamilton yearned for were to marry a good woman, raise a family, and hide away into seclusion to live a normal life away from battle and war, not an easy task for the Dragonkine warrior and Clan Douglas’s second in command. Assigned to investigate an allied clan, he vows upon his return to marry his love, Effie. That’s until the Dragonkine warrior finds himself accused of a crime he did not commit, murder. Imprisoned, he must find a way to escape not only to save his own life but to save the life of the woman he loves.

In time the past will catch up with you…

Effie Douglas is a survivor. Though not born a Douglas, Effie leaves her old life behind to seek safety within Clan Douglas. For five years Conall Hamilton has been her secret lover and savior, helping her pick up the pieces of her damaged past. Hiding the true nature of their relationship from their clan had become a burden for the red-headed lass and now she desires more. She wants Conall’s name. When Effie is summoned home, she is plagued with unwanted memories, treachery, and new found information that will change her life forever. Will Effie have the courage and strength to weather the storm that rages around her?

Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000039_00073]

My Review 4/5 Stars

Conall Hamilton lost his wife and son. One morning his wife comes to him and tells him he needs to move on and make Effie his wife.

Effie Douglas wants to be more than just a secret for Conall, she wants him to make an honest woman out of her. When he finally asks her to be his wife, she is afraid that he will find out who she is when her brother comes to the castle.

Going back home, Effie wants to make sure that Conall doesn’t find out who she really is, but what she finds when she gets there is betrayal.

I love me a good Scottish Historical, there is something about a man in a kilt, throw in some paranormal and I’m in heaven. This story ahs action, love and betrayal. Someone who is supposed to love and protect Effie betrays her at every turn. She has her doubts about her worth to Conall when he finds out she is, but he puts those things to rest.

I enjoyed how the MC’s were with each other and how the secondary characters got to tell some of their story as well. Can’t wait for the next book.

Plans for the New Year

Plans for the New Year, well I have a few, but most of all I will be kicking cancer’s ass. Right before Thanksgiving I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Very shocking and set my world spiraling out of control. I had just finished writing Highland Storm and working on edits, and at the same time dealing with test and working out a treatment plan. Definitely a crazy time.

So, my number one goal is fighting cancer and to continue to write book three in the Guardians of Scotland series. I also have a few ideas for two new series. Vampires in Scotland… Vikings in Scotland… why yes.

Thank you for having me on your blog today.

Highland Storm - Author Photo

Growing up in the sister city to Stirling, Scotland, Sottish flare was abundant throughout Dunedin. From her High School band to the annual Highland Games that took place right across the street from her childhood home, the bagpipes beckoned her toward her calling. It seemed only natural for Victoria Zak to want to write in the Scottish historical romance genre. Add to the fact, she was also a paranormal romance junkie, there was no doubt that her influences would be the driving force behind her stories.

Although, she never sought out a writing career, her desire for the written word grew the more she read. Her love for Scotland, curiosity of history, and passion for romance has inspired her to write her first book, Highland Burn. The Guardians of Scotland series continues this winter with Highland Storm.

Now, Victoria Zak lives in the sunshine state with her husband, two beautiful children, and three furry friends. Living in paradise, being a stay at home, and to be able to share her stories has been a blessing.

Victoria loves to hear from her readers. You can connect with her through FB, Twitter, G+, and her website.

A Fairy Tale Romance - Teaser 2

Excerpt: 18+

Grace took a breath, she whispered against his lips. “Would it be too soon to unzip your jeans, to slip you inside me, to rock on your oh so hard erection? You set me longing for sex, longing for the feel of you thrusting into me.”

Thorn’s eyes snapped open. He could hardly believe his ears. He saw her face through a daze of lust. “I’d love it. I’m desperate for you. You have to know that.”

He hadn’t finished his sentence and she had opened the zipper of his jeans. She knelt so that he could raise his hips and slide the jeans down his thighs.

The white sand felt cool under his ass. His cock ached. His stomach muscles were so tightly clenched with the need to fuck he could hardly breathe. Thorn watched Grace push aside the pale blue fabric of her bikini panties between her legs. His breath left him in a whoosh as she grasped his cock to guide the head to her entrance, and then with exquisite slowness sat down onto it so that he felt every inch of the warm, wet, glide in.

She straddled across his lap, her knees in the sand and her inner thighs against the skin of his outer thighs. She held the V of his hips and rode his cock.

A Fairy Tale Romance - Teaser 1

 Author Interview

  1. Why did you become a writer?

I write because stories just drift into my head and demand to be told. I hope people do read them. I care about that and not about making money, although that would be nice to cover art and advertising. We go through life and bump into others, glimpse their life, their emotion, and then on we all go. We’re like molecules, milling around. I often wonder where people are that I have encountered in my work. I’ve seen some sadness and despite I write happy endings, and even though it sounds pessimistic, I think it’s a lonely life for many people. I want love in the world. I want soft sighs and whispers. I want care and understanding between people. (Utopia I know) I like happy endings. There are so few in real life, it seems to me, and so I write them. I write the hot sex I’d want if I was in a relationship. Not very politically correct I know, but my characters are physically beautiful (mainly) and I do that on purpose because humans like beauty, they aspire to it, and beautiful people are like flowers for me. They adorn the world with loveliness. Speaking as a heterosexual woman nothing is better than a gorgeous man with a sculpted body, and lovely eyes. Mmm maybe trees, trees are great, the ocean, that’s fabulous too. Music, music lifts my soul. There you go I’m in love with beauty in general.

  1. Do you have any siblings? No
  1. If you could go any where in the world where would you go? Right now I’d like to go to some pretty tropical Island, but that will change, I know.
  2. Why? I want to be by a lovely ocean and surrounded by palm trees.
  1. If the zombie apocalypse happened tomorrow would you be ready? Probably not.
  2. What is your favorite genre to read?

I don’t have a favorite, I read heaps of authors and different genres. Currently I’m reading a James Ellroy novel, ‘Blood’s a Rover’. I can’t begin to recall every book I’ve read in my life so far, thousands, tens of thousands. I used reading in childhood as an escape. I‘d even read a huge amount of classics by the time I was eleven or something. I read lots of reference books too, text books for university etc.

  1. If you could meet anyone past, present or future, who would it be? William Shakespeare
  2. Where do you see yourself three years from now? I don’t think about the future anymore it’s too hard. I try to live in the present because who knows what will happen tomorrow.
  3. Paper or plastic? Paper unless it’s a credit card, or an ebook. I like ebooks.
  4. Home cooking or take out? I only eat cold food, that came about from living for years in a rental house without a stove and also I can’t cook, and honestly I don’t care enough to learn
