Book Blitz: Ghost by J.M. Dabney

Ghost
(Executioners #1)

Cover Design: Winterheart Design

Genre: M/M, Contemporary Romance

Synopsis:

Gideon Jane earned the name Ghost for his reclusive nature when he joined a group of guys in Powers, Georgia in a band called Executioners. It had been his way of settling into small town life after living in New York for the past twenty years. He loved the band and his small organic farm. What he didn’t love was being single, but it appeared it was his new reality. He didn’t want his ex back, although he did want something. What that was eluded him until the evening he walked into Nightingale’s Books.

Small town girl Harper Sage knew pain, and she’d lived with it—she had the scars both mental and physical to prove it. It would’ve been easier to hop in her car to find safety and anonymity, but Harper stayed to prove she was stronger than hurled fists and bruising prejudice. She found herself within the safety of a close-knit group of rough bikers and bar bouncers. That didn’t mean it was all perfect.

What’s a girl to do when she craves normalcy and acceptance: she just smiles. Choices are made, some with dire consequences and others that bring her closer to her dream. Will she make the right decision or finally discover escape is her best option?

Review: 5/5 Stars
I loved this story! I know Harper from the Brawlers series. And all the trouble she went through with Bill in a couple of those books about broke my heart. At first her name didn’t ring a bell, until after I started reading the story.
In this story Harper really came out of her shell, with a little help and patience from Ghost. And oh my goodness, I loved Ghost. He’s the type of man that will be your rock when you need him, or he will tell you what will happen, you argue a little, then he ends up getting his way. But you know it’s good and helpful to you, but you gotta show that you are independent and can take care of yourself, but you want his help too.
This story will pull you in and hold you tight, and have you saying awe, or crying with Harper. I want to say the only down fall of this book was the way Joker treated Ghost when he wanted to start dating Harper, and when he was dating Harper. I get that something happened in his past, (and I definitely want to read his book), but I was on Ghost’s side too, like dude we’re best friends, how can you think so lowly of me. But Joker did redeem himself with Killer.
Can’t wait for the next book and the series.

Blog Tour: Fool of Main Beach by Tara Lain

Fool of Main Beach
(Love of Laguna Series, #5)

Genre: M/M, Contemporary Romance

Synopsis:

Merle Justice wants to reach for the stars, but it’s tough to get respect when playing a teenybopper vampire on TV. Then he meets a famous director anxious to give him all he thinks he wants—and maybe a bit more. Everything’s looking up until a life-threatening encounter with some homophobes on Main Beach puts Merle face-to-face with a Sasquatch-sized hero in a pink puffer coat.

Tom Henry defies description. As unsophisticated and simple as an angel, he walks through life content with who he is and asking for very little except to care for his sister, Lily, and the dogs he loves. Then he meets Merle, the embodiment of dreams he barely knows he has. Merle knows the people who hold his future in their hands might love Tom—but they’ll never understand Merle and Tom together. Tom knows it too. With lives this far apart, who’s really the fool of Main Beach?

The unlikeliest of lovers. The sweetest of loves.

Excerpt

Tom sat on the side of the double bed that Merle kept for company. “This is nice.”

“I’ll have a better place when my house is done. The bathroom is across the hall. The towels are clean. I’ll see if I have an extra toothbrush.”

Tom looked up with those big eyes. “Thank you for saving me.”

“I’m just glad you called.”

“I didn’t know who else to call. I was thinking maybe Billy if I couldn’t get you.” He looked at his hands folded in his lap. “I figured you’d be with Renee.”

“No. We left right after you did, and I came here.”

Tom glanced up quickly and then back down.

Merle swallowed a little too loudly. “I might have some pajama bottoms that will fit you, but they’ll be way too short.”

“That’s okay. I’ll wear my undies.”

“So, uh, sleep well.” He turned and practically raced to his own room before his nobility faded.

Tom stared at his hands some more. Merle sure did want to go back to sleep. I must have bothered him. But I’m still happy he came to get me. I didn’t want to fuck Aaron or even suck his cock like he said.

Tom stood and walked to the bathroom across the hall. He glanced toward the other door just a little way away. That’s where Merle is. Light still showed under the door. Not asleep yet.

No toothbrush. Merle forgot. But Tom found some toothpaste in a drawer and put some on his finger and slid it around. After rinsing, he peed, washed his hands and face, and went back into the bedroom, stripped to his boxer briefs, and hung his jeans and shirt and jacket on hangers in the closet.

He pulled back the covers and found nice white sheets, then crawled in and flipped off the light beside the bed. Wonder if Merle’s asleep? I hope the boys are okay and don’t miss me too much. He almost never left them overnight. Mrs. A. wouldn’t like it if he did it very much. The boys wouldn’t like it either.

He sighed and stretched his hands behind his head. I shouldn’t have said I’d go dancing with Aaron. Why did I do that?

He followed the patterns of headlights streaking across the wall through a gap in the curtains. I like to dance. His lips compressed in a line. I wanted to dance, but not with Aaron. I wanted to dance with Merle. He smiled. I got to and it was rad. Merle’s the best dancer ever.

Oh boy. He shook his head. I really like Merle. I never should’ve said I’d go with Aaron when I wanted to go with Merle. That was dumb. And not very nice. He blew out his breath in a long stream and felt it tickle his chest. But Merle didn’t ask me.

Flipping to his side, he stroked the soft sheets. But maybe Merle wants me to ask him. When I called him, he came right away like—like nobody ever has. What would he do if I just told him?

Review: 5/5 Stars

I loved this book. I am ashamed to say that I only read the first book in the series a while back, and I absolutely loved that book too. I definitely need to read the rest of the books in the series, one because I want to, and two because the other couples show up on this book as well.

Tom as Joel Lowenstien said is a breath of fresh air, and I mean that as he isn’t like your typical leading MC’s and I loved that about him. He’s innocent and loving and he just burrows his way into your heart. And his love for dogs is truly adorable. Now who I didn’t like in connection to Tom is his sister Lily. She worked my nerves when she was first introduced into the book, but as you go on she grows on you and you begin to understand her more. Tom also believes that he isn’t good enough for Merle, which is bonkers.

Merle is a famous tv actor who doesn’t believe that he is truly talented which is kinda hard to believe with all the adoring fans he has, and him being nominated for an award when the book first starts. I think it has something to do with his parents and them basically telling him he’s an okay actor, which they could just bite me to be honest.

Merle and Tom meet and I don’t want to say love at first sight, but they warm up to each. They also send each other mixed signals out the wazoo. I’m not going to lie, I got lost somewhere along the way, when they stopped seeing each other, but I got back on track when things started to smooth out. And by that I mean, everything was good, then next thing you know their avoiding each other.

This was a great read, and I will be catching up on the other couples of Laguna Beach.

First Edition published by Amber Quill Press/Amber Allure, 2013.
Review: 4/5 Stars
So I have not had the pleasure of reading the first three books in the London Lad series. Which maybe I should fix pretty soon.
We have Ken who works at the mall monitoring the CCTV’s. Everything is business as usual until a new waiter starts to work at the mall, then Ken starts getting the show of his life. Now in the background you have Ken’s friend Simon who is trying to hook him up with another guy and the entire time, and up until Ken and the other guy meets, I’m thinking to myself why the heck isn’t Simon trying to get with the dude, but hey to each their own.
Ken doesn’t really want to go on the blind date, but he does it for Simon. And again, I have no idea why. But enter the guy Ken had a crush on in high school and Simon’s blind date is history.
Overall it’s a good book, it flows well, and to be a short story it pulls you in, because like Ken I wanted to know who the dude was giving Ken the free peep show.

Author Bio

Clare took the pen name London from the city where she lives, loves, and writes. A lone, brave female in a frenetic, testosterone-fuelled family home, she juggles her writing with the weekly wash, waiting for the far distant day when she can afford to give up her day job as an accountant. She’s written in many genres and across many settings, with novels and short stories published both online and in print. She says she likes variety in her writing while friends say she’s just fickle, but as long as both theories spawn good fiction, she’s happy. Most of her work features male/male romance and drama with a healthy serving of physical passion, as she enjoys both reading and writing about strong, sympathetic and sexy characters.

Clare currently has several novels sulking at that tricky chapter 3 stage and plenty of other projects in mind . . . she just has to find out where she left them in that frenetic, testosterone-fuelled family home.

Kyle (The First Legacy)

Review: 4/5 Stars

Oh my goodness, this book broke my heart. I didn’t have the pleasure of reading the Texas Series, and to be honest I’m a little scared to. From my understanding a bad guy from that series plays a big part in this series. It follows the journey of the men abused by the bad guy.

In the second installment we have Gabriel, and he just about did my heart in. In the first book in this series we have Kyle, and he went through some rough stuff, but that doesn’t light a candle to what Gabriel went through and what happened after the bad guy went to jail. He had it extra hard, going from one bad situation to the next, and not have the strength to leave.

Enter Cam. It all started as Cam paying for Gabriel to pretend to be his date, so that Cam’s family could back off. Because Cam’s family is a piece of work. But from there you can see the connection and they keep seeing each other.

I want to say they built a relationship, but it sort of was, but wasn’t if you catch my meaning, but once Cam found out what was really going on with Gabriel, he tried to help even if his bodyguard Six didn’t take to kindly to it.

This book will catch you in the feels, hard core in the feels. Can’t wait for the next book, and I just might read the Texas series, if my heart can take it.

Love or hate. Life or death. No inbetween. No compromise. No rules in love and war.
Knight. Party monster. Handsome Savage. Doesn’t do monogamy.
Elliot. Obsessive. Intense. Uncompromising.

Newly single, Knight is done with relationships. All he’s interested in is bringing down The Count, an Internet personality who is tarnishing his family name. An opportunity to crush him comes when the audacious clown shows up at the Kings of Hell MC clubhouse to film for his YouTube channel. But when Knight meets Elliot, the man behind The Count, he no longer knows what to do with him.

One unwilling to commit, the other promising an eternity together.

And Elliot doesn’t settle for half-measures. He craves a love that is all or nothing, passion that will consume him, and desire to burn him alive.

Elliot is ready to either get that, or die trying.
