***Not a Standalone – This is Book Three of a Three-Book Series***

My Review: 4/5 Stars

This is the final book in the Starting Over series. In the last book, Parker was arrested because he pissed off some very bad people.  Catalina is torn and doesn’t know what to do to help Parker. Until she goes to meet Damien. He has a solution for her, but she doesn’t know if it will help Parker.

This was a great ending. I can’t really say much without giving the story away, but I will say that Catalina is a very loyal  friend and Parker was stupid to put her through the stuff he did. I’m a little upset about who Catalina ended up with, but I can’t say I blame her for her choice. Though I think I might have gave that part away, it is a journey for both of them to get where they need to be. There were a few typos, but nothing to bad. Great series Ryssa.

My Review: 4/5 Stars

The story continues right where the last story ended. Catalina has moved out of the apartment that her and Parker where sharing. He lied to her face and made a promise he knew he would not keep even for her. When Parker finds out that she has left, he was devastated, until he realized that she invaded his privacy.

Catalina is now staying at the hotel where she works and one day when she is off she meets Damian. They start to hang out and Catalina could see herself with him, if she wasn’t stuck on thinking about Parker.

Parker calls Catalina when he realizes she wasn’t coming home and when she didn’t answer he was pissed and hurt, but then he remembered why she left and he got angry. When Catalina calls back Parker states he didn’t mean to call her. Catalina realizes something isn’t right and goes to see him, but he doesn’t want to see her. Catalina leaves and tries hard not to think about Parker. She throws herself into her relationship with Damian until one night Parker couldn’t stand not seeing her. Will Catalina greet him with opened arms or will she turn her back on him?

I liked this short read. I liked that Ryssa gave the back story into how they came to be where they are. I enjoyed that she put this book in Parkers POV as well. I would recommend this book. I can’t wait to read this next book in the series.

Excerpt:

PROLOGUE
Tears coursed down Catalina’s cheeks as she packed her one, slightly battered suitcase. She looked around at the little one bedroom apartment, which had been her home for the last few months. It was cramped, rotting and occasionally became infested with cockroaches but it had been home and had been a source of comfort, joy and happiness in a time when she had needed it the most. Out of the corner of her eyes she saw that it was almost 3:00pm.
She would have to hurry up if she wanted to avoid seeing Parker. She couldn’t believe it had come to this. Was she really running away from Parker? He had always been the one person in the entire world who she had been able to count on. He was her dearest friend, her confidante, her lover and support system. From the age of four when he had rescued her cat from a tree they had been inseparable. Over the next fourteen years he had continued to be her rock, through thick and thin. It was always them against the world.
But now, here she was running away from him, scared and frightened.
Will I ever stop running? She thought to herself wistfully. What wouldn’t she give for some real stability? This apartment and their new life together had provided some stability and she realized that deep down she had secretly hoped it would be like this forever, or at the least it would be the start of a new life, a better one then the one they had both left behind.
As she continued to pack Catalina’s thoughts drifted back into the past, to her childhood and to Parker. The memory of her first meeting with Parker still burned vividly in her mind and she was reminded once more of how from the very beginning she had always depended on him to rescue her.

My Review: 4/5 Stars

The story begins with Catalina packing and getting ready to leave, but then she thinks of how she first meet Parker and what led up to her leaving the apartment they shared.

Catalina’s home life was not perfect at all and when she meet Parker things seemed to be more tolerable with him around. Parkers home life was just as messed up as Catalina, but they had each. After a horrific night when her step father tried to make a  pass at her when she was sixteen. She goes to Parker and he tells her they should leave. Within a week they move on and go to California. Catalina didn’t delude herself into thinking it was going to be easy, but when Parker found a job at a ‘garage’ things were looking up for them. They find an apartment and Catalina finds a job at an hotel. With both of them working, they were saving money, life was good. Until Parker lied to her about something to important. With his lie in her mind she leaves. Can she make it in a new city and town by herself? Or will she go back to Parker and forgive him for his lie?

I liked this short read. I liked that Ryssa gave the back story into how they came to be where they are. I only wish she had more from Parker’s point of view. I would recommend this book. I can’t wait to read this next book in the series.
